Glossary
Cold inflation pressure
Tire pressure measured before the vehicle has been driven more than one mile or after it has sat for at least three hours away from direct sunlight. The standard baseline for setting and comparing pressure.
Real-World Use
A driver checking pressure before a shift finds a tire reading the same as its running pressure from the prior day — waiting for the tire to cool gives the reliable cold reading needed to judge whether it is actually at the correct target.
