Regional service

Last reviewed: 2026-05-20

A tire application category for mixed highway and local operation — typically including city pickup and delivery, moderate highway mileage, varied loads, and more frequent stops than long-haul service. Regional tires often balance tread depth, void ratio, and tread pattern for both highway efficiency and local-service traction demands.

A tire designed for regional service may wear faster in high-speed long-haul applications than a dedicated highway tire.

Real-World Use

A fleet replacing long-haul highway tires with regional tires to handle a new pickup-delivery contract finds better traction in tight-turn city operations, but tread life is shorter than the prior highway tires on the remaining long-haul runs.
